A wellspring of weaponized sentiment

sentimentI spent Christmas alone and New Year’s with a child-proof bottle. I ran out of memes about self-love and deceit, so I found all the places conducive to thinking, snapped a pic, shared a thought and went home.

And then I met him. “If you need anything at all…” he said. But I didn’t need anything. I needed something particular, before my heart shook to pieces from the quake of an unseated mind.

Look at me now. In just three days, the despair rinsed away, like lather from a soft, clotted wound.
